Apprentice Hackathon enters its next round

Julia, Pia and Joel shine at the final in Vienna.
At this year's Federal Apprentice Hackathon, Austria's largest competition for digital skills of the future, our apprentices demonstrated their capabilities and secured first place. The hackathon took place as part of the 7th WKÖ CodingDay in Vienna and brought together over 400 apprentices from 95 companies and 36 apprenticeship professions.

Innovative idea: AidMate

In a short space of time, our apprentices developed the AidMate app, which digitises first aid at work. It makes the contents of first aid kits transparent, reminds users when they need to be refilled and also offers a chatbot that supports first responders in emergencies with important information.

Team spirit and creativity lead to success

Julia, Pia and Joel demonstrated how to use digital tools effectively, solve problems and realise ideas as a team. In doing so, they not only demonstrated technical expertise, but also social responsibility and creativity.

‘We also learned a lot about ourselves through the project. We were able to try new things and discovered skills we didn't even know we had.’ - Joel, 2nd year apprentice

It is precisely these skills that will be crucial in the working world of tomorrow. We are proud that our apprentices took on this challenge and mastered it with flying colours.

We are proud of the achievements of our apprentices, whose motivation inspires us every day. The ambition and diligence with which they approached this project was impressive.
