Positively Purple –

Awareness for people with disabilities
3 December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Across the world, the day stands for awareness, inclusion and the removal of barriers at work and in society. We highlight this topic today with renewed focus – under the banner of #PositivelyPurple. The Positively Purple campaign (formerly Purple Light Up) started in 2017 in England. Kate Nash and PurpleSpace launched it to use the colour purple as a visible symbol of inclusion and diversity and to celebrate the contributions of employees and customers with disabilities.

With this story, we send a clear signal of openness and solidarity. For us, inclusion means one thing above all: every colleague is a natural part of the team – regardless of individual circumstances or limitations.

myAbility is a social enterprise that promotes a barrier-free working environment and supports companies in all matters related to inclusion. The network offers practical ideas to break down barriers, identify obstacles and create a workplace where different abilities are recognised as strengths.

Since the beginning of the year, Stefan Füller has acted as our representative for employees with disabilities. He supports anyone with questions, concerns or a need for support.

It is important to me that everyone here feels comfortable and is taken seriously. In everyday life, what counts is how we treat each other – and that works really well for us.

Stefan Füller
Liaison for people with disabilities

Stefan has been part of Tyrolit for more than 25 years. His contributions to our workplace and the way he supports the colleagues around him make him a valued team member.

In his new additional role as liaison for people with disabilities, he now supports us in another important way.

This group photo of Stefan and his colleagues captures exactly that spirit: solidarity in action. Dressed in the purple colours of the #PositivelyPurple movement, they send a shared message – one of togetherness and mutual respect.
