On 25 April 2023, Tyrolit received an award for its pioneering work in shaping climate-friendly mobility in its own operations – specifically with the commissioning of its fleet of e-trucks – at “THE PEP Partnership & Klimaaktiv mobil Specialist Conference” in Vienna. Christian Miklin, Head of Supply Chain Management at Tyrolit, received the award from the Federal Minister for Climate Protection Leonore Gewessler and representatives of the Association of Cities and Towns and the Chamber of Commerce.

Outstanding competence in corporate climate protection
“We are very pleased that the implementation of the E-fleet is once again bearing fruit and that we are now a klimaaktiv mobil project partner of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology,” Miklin is pleased and adds: “The award encourages us to continue to boldly drive forward our sustainability strategy.” With this step, the Tyrolean leading company is sending a clear signal for climate protection and showing how companies can design their own mobility in a climate-friendly way. “In Austria, Tyrolit is the first company to have successfully implemented the complete conversion of its plant transport to e-trucks,” explains the supply chain expert, “until now, e-trucks in Austria were only used as test vehicles in various forwarding companies.” Three emission-free e-trucks from MAN handle internal plant transport between the Tyrolit plants in Schwaz, Stans and Vomp and replace the journeys previously made with combustion engines. The electric vehicles save 58 tonnes of CO2 and 220 kilograms of nitrogen oxides per year. Their range is 190 kilometres with a maximum speed of 89 km/h on one battery charge. The means of transport are charged at a 20 KW wallbox, which is fed with pure green electricity from TIWAG. The e-trucks also impress with their lower energy consumption and low maintenance requirements.

Climate-friendly mobility in Europe
The “THE PEP Partnership & Klimaaktiv mobil Conference” was organised by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology. At the conference, which was held under the motto “Offensive for Active Mobility and Mobility Management for Climate-Friendly, Health-Promoting and Energy-Saving Mobility in Europe”, important issues relating to the mobility revolution were discussed, experiences were exchanged and practical examples from Austria and Europe were presented. During the event, Tyrolit and other Austrian companies received awards for their efforts to increase e-mobility and reduce exhaust emissions.
