Excellent road grip through grinding

The aim of grinding is to produce a defined roughness of the surface in order to ensure the required grip and at the same time minimise the road noise. In addition to a comprehensive range of grooving machines for the US market, TYROLIT has been offering a CE-certified grinder since autumn 2019: The PC4504CE Bump Grinder is a self-propelled machine for the surface treatment of asphalt and concrete, which is very well suited to roads. To meet the legal regulations and requirements of the European market, the American original was adapted in close cooperation between TYROLIT and LISSMAC Maschinenbau GmbH. In grinding operation the PC4504CE convinces all along the line: The 9 m long machine has a 127 cm wide grinding shaft, which can be fitted as standard with up to 250 BGX-C3 PREMIUM diamond saw blades in TGD® technology with a diameter of 485 mm. The result is an optimum grinding pattern with clean cutting edges without subsequent sludge extraction.

Grooving creates drainage grooves for water disposal

Grooving involves cutting grooved profiles into large concrete and asphalt surfaces to ensure that water runs off during heavy rainfall. In addition to improved water drainage, this enables the road surface to dry more quickly. This process is mainly used for airport runways. In order to meet the various requirements, TYROLIT offers compact models as well as the almost 9 m long PC1505 Groover, which is equipped with a powerful Tier 5 engine and meets all requirements for the European market. Simple operation and an integrated vacuum system are just some of the advantages of the PC1505, which can be equipped with TYROLIT diamond saw blades with diameters up to 300 mm.
